Free Flight Toy AIrcrafts
On the other hand if a parent chooses to give a child a free-flight type of toy aircraft, the old balsa gliders and rubber-powered planes are still available in most of the Model/RC aircraft hobby stores (e.g. company like Keil Kraft & Vernon, DRP & West Wings etc.).
Building and flying free-flight type toy aircrafts is fun for kids and fathers, and subsequently the activity can be a good way of getting kids in a rewarding hobby.
Radio Control Toy Aircrafts
Another option of toy aircraft is to go for the radio controlled (RC) types of aircraft.
On the market there are the new lithium battery powered foam planes. These are good basic way of learning to fly radio controlled planes. These types of aircraft are around US$60 including charger and transmitter/radio gear. These batteries can be rechargeable in about 10 minutes.
In general, most of these RC toy aircrafts are made of durable materials and thus they are hard to damage, though it is still better to be flown on a calm & dry day. |
